Location

 

Mendoza is located in the West center of Argentina, in the border with Chile. The province has a territory framed to the east by Andes Mountain where you can find the Aconcagua´s peak of 6,959 meters high (almost 23000 feet).

History

 

Mendoza, the Land of sun and good wine.

 

HistoryWhen the Spaniards came to Mendoza, it was was occupied by the Huarpes and Incas Indians. They lived as a pacific community, sedentary and agriculturist.

 

The Huarpes stands out, because they had developed a network of irrigation channels in the valley of Huentota (today city of Mendoza), that allowed them to cultivate potato, pumpkin and maize.

 

HistoryOn March 2nd of 1561, sent by Spanish colony in Chile Don Pedro del Castillo founded the city of Mendoza, 2 centuiress after, the politicall control was took by Buenos Aires (the actual capital of Argentina)

 

Since the colony time it became the connection between the Pacific and the Atlantic Ocean, witch developed Mendoza as one of the main cities in Argentina.

 

HistoryAt first growing cereal became one of the main economic activities, but nowadays the petroleum is the main one, and the wine industry is growing very fast powered by the increasing turism. 

 

Mendoza is an oasis in the middle of the dessert, famous by is sun that is allways present togother with beautiful landscapes.
